Over half the
cars that come to our shop from another repair facility
(independents, specialty shops and dealers) simply do
not need the repair suggested by the other shop.
In most of these cases, a major repair has been suggested and
we find the problem to only be something minor and at
a fraction of the price originally quoted elsewhere. Transmissions
are complex and it takes a real specialist to really understand
what is going on. With the advent of computer controls
there is a huge amount of interaction between all the
other parts of the vehicle, so we have developed expertise
in those areas as well.
At the AAMCO Supercenters of Lee's Summit and Belton, we have a strict process to carefully
diagnose every vehicle we work on. With the large amount
of computer controls today, it can be very difficult to
determine the real cause of a problem. Our process takes
you through a number of small steps to ensure we repair
only what is needed and we pride ourselves of doing correct
and cost effective repairs for our customers.
